Lawyers participate in and benefit from the rule of law. We have the ability (knowledge, skills, strategies, connections, influence, resources) to help realise equal access to justice. This gives us a duty to use some of our time and that ability to help those who cannot afford legal services, for the public good, pro bono publico.
I’m proud to be working with colleagues in private practice, legal departments, independent law centres, and social justice organisations to enhance pro bono culture in Ireland and globally.
I’m one of the founding signatories of the Pro Bono Pledge Ireland, launched in November 2020, and a member of the Public Interest Law Alliance pro bono network. My pro bono work comes from PILA and other civil society organisations I have a relationship with.
